Style: The ultimate trail bike.
The Fuel EX is the the ultimate singletrack trail bike - agile enough for racing, yet relaxed enough for long-distance pedalling. The Fuel EX is the right bike for everyone from novice trail riders to accomplished mountain enthusiasts to singletrack junkies-and riders who want to do it all. Ready to take things to the next level.
ABP:
Other suspension systems firm up under braking. Active Braking Pivot (ABP) allows your suspension to remain active, whether you're pedalling, coasting or braking.
This means your bike performs as it was intended, all the time.
ABP Convert is the same ABP performance you know and love, but with multiple wheel interface options. New for 2011, ABP Convert is for use with a 142x12mm rear wheel and Maxle Lite thru axle.
Want to use an old 135x5mm wheel? All ABP Convert-equipped bikes are reverse compatible—they ship with extra hardware + skewer to allow an easy, flawless switch to the old system.
Full Floater:
Most suspension systems attach the shock to a moving linkage at the top, and a fixed frame mount on the bottom.
Full Floater attaches the shock to two moving linkage points that give the shock increased ability to respond to bumps across a wide variety of terrain.
E2:
The evolution of the traditional 1 1/8" headset to a tapered headtube, fork, and headset system.
E2 tapers from a 1.5" lower to a 1 1/8" upper headset to provide more material where it matters most, resulting in a stronger, lighter frame with point-and-shoot control.
EVO Link:
The EVO Link is Trek’s evolution of the rocker link from the plate-and-bolt style used on most suspension bikes today to a one-piece molded magnesium rocker link. This lighter link provides a stronger connection at the system’s most crucial connection point between the front and rear triangles.
Trail-Tuned Fox Shock:
Trek works closely with Fox Racing Shox to fine tune its shock specific to the Fuel EX platform. This vast tuning experience results in a more controlled ride than you can find from anyone else.
The Fuel EX 7 is the perfect formula of geometry, travel and technology.
