Orbea introduce the sensational "M" series carbon Gain e-bikes. Even lighter and more responsive than the already revolutionary aluminium Gain, the carbon Gain will make you fall in love with cycling all over again.
The Gain M20 features a beautiful monocoque carbon frame, ultra-slick shifting Shimano Ultegra drivetrain, powerful Shimano Ultegra hydraulic disc brakes and lightweight Mavic Aksium Elite Disc wheels. Weighing less than 12kg, it's not just a great looking e-bike, it's a stunning road bike in its own right with the performance to match.
Gain is an electric bike designed to enhance your ride, not dominate it. The Enough Power and Enough Energy concepts result in an exceptionally lightweight, sportive and rideable bike - a machine that heeds the call of the open road.
Gain embraces your sweat and hard work and works in unison with your efforts to tick off the miles. System interfaces are modern, integrated and sleek. There are no bulky components to reduce the riding experience and distractions have been minimised - it's just you, Gain and hours of brilliant fun ahead.
The Gain is a new class of e-bike. It looks very much like a "normal" bike, is much lighter than other e-bikes, and also feels like a proper bike to ride! Press the sleek and simple mode button to switch on the power, and revel in the assistance provided as and when you need it.
Gain is ideal for those looking to enhance their cycling adventures or wanting some assistance on a commute. Whether you're getting into cycling for the first time, getting back on a bike after a long time away, are daunted by the fitness barrier, switching from other forms of transport, or just want to be able to go further more easily, Gain is for you.
Gain has been developed by Orbea in conjunction with fellow Spanish manufacturer ebikemotion to create a groundbreaking bike. Rather than a bulky and heavy battery, Gain integrates the lightweight and compact ebikemotion system. The discreet battery is hidden inside the downtube of the frame to provide enough power, not more. It is designed for a range of up to 100 km (about 62 miles) and 1500 metres of altitude. To recharge the battery simply plug in the provided cable into the port on the frame.
The sophisticated ebikemotion motor is found in the rear hub. It gives smooth and reliable assistance at levels designed to enhance your ride, not dominate it. Sensors monitor your pedalling input and the assistance is cleverly adjusted accordingly. When you switch off the power you have the advantage of drag-free pedalling, just like a regular bike.
The mode button on the top tube is your control centre. An attractive and discreet design that uses coloured LEDs, this iWoc ONE interface allows you to power on and off, change the assistance level, check the assistance level and check the battery charge remaining.
For further information at your fingertips use the smartphone and smartwatch compatible app to enable greater control of the iWoc system. This sophisticated app is exclusive to Orbea, with functions including speed, distance, timer, range, ride tracking, mapping and navigation, and activity and GPS route uploading.
Available in four beautiful colour options, and also available at no extra cost in custom colours. Choose your own design at MyO.
Orbea Gain M20 review, Cycling Plus magazine, July 2019:
"You need to learn to ride smart with any e-bike system: use the power when you need it and turn it off when you don't. The Gain rides beautifully even when it's in off mode. Yes, you can feel the extra mass of the rear hub but the chassis feels composed and the weight distribution gives a sweet balance to the bike's handling. Steering is stable, yet light, making the Gain the most nimble of all the bikes on test here.
It's also the most adaptable. Orbea has cleverly built plenty of tyre clearance into the Gain's fork and rear stays. We've already been impressed by the alloy Gain in gravel trim so we're in no doubt that the carbon model would make a formidable bike for when you're off the beaten track."
"Overall, the Gain feels the most 'complete' e-assisted bike here, and certainly the least compromised by the extra mass that a motor and battery inevitably bring.... ....the Gain was designed as an e-bike from the ground up, borne out by its balance, handling and all-round road manners, and it's a huge amount of fun."
Subtle assistance, can be bespoke
You're looking for great handling and a wonderfully smooth ride
