Domane SL 6 Disc is a performance road bike that's both fast and comfortable. It has all the road-smoothing advantages of a lightweight OCLV Carbon frame with Front and Rear IsoSpeed, plus a full Shimano Ultegra drivetrain, high-quality wheels and hydraulic disc brakes for confidence and braking power in any conditions.
Domane is the road bike built for more: more miles, more types of terrain, more weather conditions, more speed. With Domane, smoother is both faster and more versatile. Domane's smooth ride comes from Trek's IsoSpeed technology. The combination of Domane's smooth ride, stable geometry, and bigger tyre clearance make it the perfect choice for long all day rides and venturing on and off the pavement. Domane is fast, stable, and the perfect bike for gravel grinding. It's a great choice for the century and adventure rider. It's also right at home mixing it up racing and on a fast group ride.
So go ahead - venture down the path unknown, take the long route, ride the paved roads out and the dirt roads home. Domane's smooth, stable, and fast ride will inspire you to keep going.
- Front IsoSpeed Decoupler delivers the perfect smooth and balanced ride, so you can ride faster, longer, and stronger. Front IsoSpeed provides an additional 10% of front-end compliance over a traditional road bike.
- Front IsoSpeed paired with Rear IsoSpeed delivers superior balance for the ultimate smooth ride. By allowing the steerer tube to flex independently from the head tube, Front IsoSpeed reduces hard hits and vibration without sacrificing efficiency or control.
- Ultralight 500 Series OCLV Carbon frame.
- Full Carbon IsoSpeed fork with ride-tuned sweep and unique dropout placement provides 7% more compliance than a traditional road fork.
- Additional tyre clearance - Domane SL 6 Disc is equipped with 700 x 32c tyres - enhances comfort and versatility on and off road.
- Superb Ultegra disc brakes provide better modulation and stopping power, so you can adventure onto rougher surfaces with confidence
Domane is a modern day instant classic race bike. The revolutionary IsoSpeed rear decoupler gives professional athletes and riders the world over an immediate advantage over rough roads thanks to double the compliance of a traditional road bike while still putting all the rider's power to the road. Trek's engineers designed a decoupler that allows the seat tube to rotate independently from the top tube-to-seatstay junction, increasing vertical compliance to twice that of the nearest rival system, without compromising pedalling efficiency. Result: you can ride harder, longer.
While IsoSpeed's rear decoupler had riders' backs, some essential parts of our bodies were left wanting. The challenge presented was not dissimilar to the same the team faced in 2010 when the development of the first generation of Domane began: reduce vibration without sacrificing any efficiency or control. In kind, the solution to the front was not all that dissimilar to the rear. Front IsoSpeed is a decoupler that allows the steerer tube to flex independently from the head tube, increasing the vertical compliance of the front of the bike by 10% compared to a traditional road bike.
OCLV is Trek's patented carbon production process. Over two decades ago, Trek engineers developed the Optimum Compaction, Low Void carbon manufacturing process, enabling them to produce carbon bikes with consistency and quality previously thought impossible. It was an industry breakthrough and to this day, Trek OCLV carbon frames are the best, most consistent you can buy.
Optimum Compaction means the carbon material is densely compressed, achieving the optimal fibre-to-resin ratio to maximize strength and minimize weight. Low Void (LV) means the carbon has almost no microscopic gaps between carbon layers, achieving a strength that exceeds even aerospace standards.
500 Series achieves a superb balance and light weight, strength and stiffness that's perfectly suited to the sophisticated frame technologies that distinguish Trek frames.
Power Transfer Construction
Trek's innovation helps you get the most out of every pedal stroke by optimising the head tube/down tube/bottom bracket/rear wheel connection.
Performance cable routing
Race optimised, road proven. Trek's performance cable routing is highly engineered for unshakable precision and the real-world performance that comes from better compatibility with current drivetrains. Optimal routing through the frame virtually eliminates friction to provide the crispest shifting in any conditions, better braking, sleeker aerodynamics, and easier assembly and maintenance.
The widest bottom bracket available on a road bike. This Trek-exclusive carbon BB makes the frame lighter, stiffer, and quicker to accelerate.
The fork tapers from a 1.5" lower bearing to a 1 1/8" upper bearing. The larger-diameter lower bearing keeps the fork stiffer under cornering loads and distributes forces more evenly, increasing the life of the bearings. Result: a more confident and durable ride.
Ride Tuned seatpost
The lightest, most comfortable solution for day-in, day-out performance and comfort. The no-cut design eliminates traditional seatpost clamping forces, so Trek can use less material at the seat tube junction, resulting in a lighter frame.
Most seatpost systems have to be cut, leaving little or no room for adjustability. The Ride Tuned seatpost system has more than 10cm of adjustment, making it the most adjustable system on the market.
As befits the world's most advanced endurance racing bikes, Domane has the most stable racing geometry - still racy, but with a slightly higher head tube for better stability and control, and greater comfort throughout the entire ride.
3S integrated chain keeper
Integrated directly into the bike frame: it's an elegant solution that provides flawless gear shifting even on rough roads and under heavy loads. No more standing on the side of the road, covered in grease, unwedging your dropped chain as competitors race by.
Seamlessly integrates the computer sensor into the frame to measure speed, distance, and cadence with no added aerodynamic drag. It works with all the major ANT+ wireless technology players, including Bontrager, Bryton, Garmin, Powertap, and SRM, and simultaneously sends Bluetooth too, to sync with smartphones.
