Description
VEGAST is the perfectly balanced lightweight yet stiff crankset with similar design features to the top-of-the-line ALDHU. VEGAST is named for 3 of the most mythical climbs of the Grand Tours: VEleta (Vuelta Espana), GAlibier (Tour de France), STelvio (Giro Italia).

VEGAST benefits from ROTOR's innovative proprietary drive-train features of modular design, OCP Mount for Q RINGS and Direct Mount technologies. Combined with the one-piece Direct Mount chainrings which are machine CNC'd from single blocks of 6082 aluminium, VEGAST achieves the perfect balance of lightweight and stiffness to take on the most challenging of mountain climbs.

ROTOR's CNC-machined cranks feature Trinity Drilling System (TDS), which is a process that drills three full-depth holes along the axis of the crank. This allows the removal of excess material from the crank arm resulting in a lighter crank without compromising its exceptional stiffness-to-weight ratio.

VEGAST's innovative modular system allows you to select each crank component based on your unique bike setup and physical characteristics and includes both road and track versions. Choose your set-up from ROTOR’s one-piece Q RINGS or Round Direct Mount chainrings or classic spider plus oval or round chainrings.

VEGAST incorporates Optimum Chainring Position (OCP) Mount technology, which enables the rider to fine-tune the orientation of ROTOR's oval Q-Rings.

ROTOR's exclusive patented technology OCP Mount refers to the pedalling's biomechanical optimisation when you are using Q-Rings or other oval chainrings. The shape of the axle lets you position independently both cranks and spider or Direct Mount, and thereby change the relative orientation. Users of oval chainrings benefit from OCP with micro-adjustment, in 1 degree increments, to increase the performance of pedalling and to reduce strain on the knees.

- Weight: 383.8g (175mm, excluding chainrings and axle)
- Sizes: 165/170/172.5/175mm
- Q-Factor: 148mm/153mm depending on axle choice, rim or disc
- Chainline: 43.5mm/46mm depending on axle choice, rim or disc

The modular system of VEGAST means you can choose the components individually. Simply choose your:
1) Axle
2) Cranks
3) Separate spider and spider mount Q-Rings; or one-piece direct mount chainrings

Axles are available in 24mm and 30mm sizes (see here).
Spiders are available in 110 BCD with 4 arms (see here), and 5 arms for riders with existing 5 bolt Q-rings.
The new 4 bolt spider mount Q-Rings are available in round and oval versions as 53, 52 and 50 outer rings, and 39, 36 and 34 inner rings (see here for the oval outer rings and here for the oval inner rings).
The new one-piece direct mount chainrings are available in round and oval versions as 53/39, 52/36 and 50/34 combinations.
