The Mission is made for speed, whether on gravel and forest roads, tarmac or anything in between. Pairing precise handling, aero features and searing acceleration with stability, comfort and confidence, it’s the perfect balance of speed and control.
Whether it's a gravel race, a multi-surface outing or some chain gang action, the 2x12-speed Mission 7000 feels at home in all of these situations. With our new CF4 carbon Mission frame featuring a geometry that is more race-focused than that of our Silex bike, which is more geared towards bikepacking and adventure, the Mission 7000 perfectly combines a more aggressive riding position with the surefooted handling you expect from a gravel race bike. Shimano's proven GRX Di2 speed groupset provides pinpoint-accurate shifting, even on the roughest gravel tracks, and Reynolds' ATR carbon wheels keep things rolling whatever the surface.
Our new Mission truly embodies its ‘fast on any surface’ intentions. It's a gravel race bike that takes key geometry and frame elements from the Scultura Endurance and Silex and adds road racing DNA to deliver a fast and responsive ride on pretty much any surface.
From fast-paced gravel races to tarmac-based chaingang outings, the Mission delivers. Up to 40 mm tyre clearance offers scope for wider gravel racing tyres or large volume road tyres, and its low weight (Mission 10K is around 7.6 kg) makes it fly up the hills.
The Mission’s built-in storage compartment (G.U.T.) improves the accessibility and organisation of crucial mid-race nutrition and spares, further enhancing the efficiency when every second counts. The ability to seamlessly fit 1x or 2x drivetrains offers riders the flexibility to find their preferred set-up fo riding or racing.

Details
The name Mission comes from the cyclocross and road/gravel crossover world, but the design inspiration comes from the Scultura Endurance platform. The Mission offers improved off-road capability without losing its road heritage and outright speed. As aero, endurance and gravel evolve, Misson bridges the gap between the Scultura Endurance and Silex ranges. The key differences are tyre clearance and geometry.
The new Mission can accommodate gravel-specific tyres up to 40mm, compared to the 35mm of the Scultura Endurance and the 45mm of the Silex. This is the ideal sweet spot between ample tyre clearance for high-speed off-road use and the sleek silhouette we know from the world of road racing.
Influenced by the Scultura and Scultura Endurance, key elements of the Mission tube profiles provide small aerodynamic advantages, particularly when combined with the Team SL GR1P one-piece carbon cockpit. This focus on aerodynamics sets the Mission apart from its gravel cousin, the Silex.
Larger-volume tyres offer comfort, grip, and increased off-road capability, while the Mission's modern geometry improves performance. To stay true to its road DNA and retain a measure of the sharp handling and snappy acceleration of the Scultura Endurance, the Mission’s geometry sits between this model and the Silex, making it a race-ready off-road bike.
A 72˚ head angle provides more control on rough surfaces without becoming sluggish. Similarly, the 391mm reach keeps the bike sporty and agile on any surface. The stack height of just 569mm compared to 584mm on the Scultura Endurance and 607mm on the Silex offers a more race-oriented position, ideal for gravel racing and fast multi-surface sessions. Finally, the low bottom bracket gives the Mission enhanced stability and control away from tarmac roads. It gives the rider the feeling that they are sitting "in the bike" rather than on top of it, massively improving the handling, stability and providing confidence on technical sections and descents, due to the low centre of gravity.
The focus of the Mission was to create a gravel race-ready bike purpose-made for the rising popularity of gravel races and events such as the UCI Gravel World Championship and UCI Gravel World Series, providing both gravel enthusiasts and Team Bahrain Victorious with a fast, responsive and off-road capable machine. But the Mission can do more. It is also a highly capable mixed-surface bike, which can hold its own on tarmac as well as off it, thanks to its balanced yet sporty geometry and lightweight, as well as its sprint-ready carbon frame.
Lightweight Carbon Frame
Mission is aimed at the more performance-oriented rider with a strong interest in "one day" or fast-paced gravel racing rather than bikepacking and multi-day long-distance gravel events. With a clear performance orientation, the Mission is only available with a lightweight CF4 level carbon frame, providing the perfect combination of weight, strength and stiffness, but in five different specification levels. A medium size frame weighs approximately 1100g and the fork is 500g.
High Performance Drivetrain
The Mission is designed with the new 13-speed XPLR group sets from SRAM in mind, featured on this, the 6000, and also the 9000 and 10K models. These offer off-road proven shifting performance, low weight, extensive gear range and simplicity. Ideal for more off-road-oriented riders.
G.U.T. Storage System
A storage compartment in the down tube, accessible via a Fidlock hatch, provides space for spare tubes, tools or any other riding or racing essentials, all neatly stored in a custom-made bag to prevent rattling on rough surfaces. G.U.T. stands for "Gear, Useful Things".
Disc Cooler
By now a staple in Merida's MTB and road range, the Disc Cooler help the braking-generated heat to dissipate faster and more efficiently, keeping braking powerful and consistent, even on long and steep descents. To further increase the braking power, 180mm front and rear discs can be fitted.
UDH Compatible
To ensure the Mission offers maximum drivetrain compatibility, our frames are UDH compatible for "mullet" drivetrains (a combination of road and MTB drivetrains), or complete MTB drivetrains.
Mudguard compatible
Mission uses Merida's hidden mudguard system. It keeps the frame looking clean when the guards are off, and lets you add mudguards when needed. Tyre clearance drops to 35mm when mudguards are installed.
